
Professor Sun Wei Guo received his PhD from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1991 and worked as an Assistant and then Associate Research Scientist at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. From 1996 to 1999, he was an Associate Professor at the Institute of Human Genetics and the Division of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. From 1999 to 2007, he was a tenured full professor at the Max McGee Research Center for Diabetes, the Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. After a three-year directorship at the Institute of Obstetric and Gynecologic Research, Shanghai At Jiao Tong University, he has been Professor of Gynecology at Shanghai OB/GYN Hospital, Fudan University, since 2010. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, Michigan State University, USA. He is ranked as one of the World’s Top 2% scientists.
He served as a Board member for the World Endometriosis Society (WES) and The Society of Endometriosis and Uterine Disorders (SEUD). He is the Founder and Board member and the past President (2017-2018) of the Asian Society of Endometriosis and Adenomyosis (ASEA). He is now a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Endometriosis Foundation of America, Heranova Lifesciences, FIMMCYTE AG, and E3A Healthcare. He is also a Member of the International Advisory Board, Taiwan Endometriosis Society.
He was the Associate Editor for Human Reproduction Update, Human Reproduction, Reproductive Sciences, Gynecology and Minimally Invasive Therapy, and the Journal of Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Disorders. Currently, he is the Co-Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Endometriosis and Uterine Disorders. He is also the Associate Editor for Human Reproduction Open, and sitting on the Editorial Board for Reproductive BioMedicine Online, Italian Journal of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Reproduction and Fertility, Obstetric and Gynecological Investigation, Journal of Clinical Medicine, and the Advisory Board of Trends in Molecular Medicine.
