Dr Paweł Basta, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Gynecology & Obstetrics and a Gynecological Oncologist at the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Poland. He is Deputy Head of the Gynecology and Gynecological Oncology Clinic at the University Hospital in Krakow. Since 2021, he has been the Vice-President of the Polish Society of Gynecological Oncology; since 2018, he has been the Chairman of the Sonology Section of the Polish Society of Gynecologists and Obstetricians and a member of the Board of the Endometriosis Section of that Society. In March 2023, he was appointed by the Polish Minister of Health to a national team developing a comprehensive endometriosis patient care system. He was a main architect for this project, which was implemented by a regulation of the Polish Minister of Health on July 1, 2025. He co-authored the latest update of the recommendations of the Polish Society of Gynecologists and Obstetricians regarding the diagnosis and treatment of women with endometriosis. Since June 2024, he has been a member of the Board of the European Endometriosis League.
A major area of Prof. Pawel Basta’s professional interests & scope is minimally invasive including robotic surgery of female reproductive organ cancers and of advanced forms of endometriosis.
