Dr. Kumara Dissanayake, MBBS, MD (Obs & Gyn), FRCOG, FSLCOG
Dr. Kumara Dissanayake is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgeon with extensive expertise in minimally invasive surgery. He has performed nearly 2000 laparoscopic procedures, including over 150 laparoscopic myomectomies, over 150 total laparoscopic hysterectomies, more than 50 complex adhesiolysis surgeries, and numerous cystectomies, diagnostic laparoscopies, and fertility-related procedures. He obtained his MBBS from the University of Peradeniya in 2003 and his MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, in 2010. He became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 2013 and was conferred the Fellowship of the RCOG (FRCOG).
Dr. Dissanayake also holds a Fellowship in Gynae Laparoscopy (India, 2016) and a Diploma in Gynaecological Endoscopy (Germany, 2019). He is a Fellow of the Sri Lanka College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FSLCOG, 2022). His professional affiliations include membership in SLCOG, KSM, Endometriosis Society of Sri Lanka, RCOG, BSGE, ISGE, AAGL, and IAGE. Recognized internationally, he was awarded the Young Gynaecologists Award at the XXII Asian and Oceanic Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Taipei, Taiwan (2011).
