What to expect upon arrival at the airport. (International guests)

Once you have cleared immigration and customs, it may be useful to be aware of some of the facilities available in the foyer of the airport.

Currency changing facilities:

Many reputed high street banks run kiosks in the foyer area. These are reliable for exchanging currency.

Telecommunication Facilities

If you wish to obtain a local SIM card, these could be purchased at the foyer where the leading local providers run kiosks.

Taxis

It is likely that you will be approached by representatives offering taxis. These are generally not reliable.
Instead you are encouraged to use a more reputable service.

Uber® is available in Sri Lanka.
PickMe® also offers a similar service that can be booked via an app.
